Biography

Dr. Navin Mukesh Punjabi served as the Vice-Principal (2020 – 2023) and is an Associate Professor at H.R College of Commerce and Economics, where he also holds the position of Director of the Placement Cell. He imparts knowledge in diverse subjects, including Commerce, Wealth Management, Corporate Governance, Principles of Investment, and Strategic Management. Dr. Punjabi notably conducted a master class titled ‘Doing Business in India – from Culture to Capital Markets’ at Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, USA.

Renowned internationally, he has been invited to deliver sessions at premier institutions such as the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University, NYU Stern School of Business, Columbia Business School, London Business School, and the University of California at Berkeley. His global footprint also encompasses interactions with leading universities like Cornell, NYU- SCPS, Rutgers, Adelphi, and Dickinson, among others.

He is an integral member of the Academic Council and Board of Governance of the HSNC University, Mumbai — a State Cluster University where H.R College is the flagship institution. Additionally, Dr. Punjabi is a recognized research guide of the University of Mumbai and HSNC University, Mumbai and is currently supervising 04research scholars.
Dr. Punjabi held the position of Chairman of academics at the Indo-American Society.

Beyond academia, Dr. Punjabi is actively involved in the corporate sector. He’s a member of the Knowledge and Skills Committee at the Indian Merchants Chambers of Commerce & Industry and served as a Managing Committee member for the chamber in 2022. Furthermore, he’s on the Managing Committee of the Investor Education and Welfare Society (IEWA) to champion investor education.

Before entering academia, Dr. Punjabi amassed experience with prominent firms like Kotak Securities and DBS Bank (Development Bank of Singapore) in their Wealth Management divisions. An accomplished author, he has penned books on a spectrum of subjects ranging from Wealth Management to Media Planning and Management. Additionally, he has authored and co-authored numerous papers presented at national and international conferences.
